A woman today sought local court's help in providing her security, from her husband and brother, who she claimed were harassing her.

Anjana Singh, a resident of village Nagla Bhalla here recorded her statement in front of the magistrate where she expressed fear for her life as she accused her husband of abusing her for dowry and her brother of harassing her, police said.

"I had to come back to my parental home since my in-laws were beating me for getting extra dowry after I was married to Chandra Veer of Selkhera village on May 19, 2013," she said.

The woman said that she is currently living with her friend, Surajbhan, and accused her brother Surender Pal Singh of filing false cases against her and her live-in partner.

"My brother has filed an FIR declaring me dead. But I am alive. He and my husband have filed false rape cases against my friend," the victim told District police chief Rakesh Singh yesterday.

Her brother Surendra Pal Singh had alleged in the FIR that her friend Surajbhan, his three brothers and two uncles and friend Anil had eliminated her after gangraping her.

"Judicial Magistrate Kumari Saloni has ordered the police to provide full protection to Anjana Singh," Secretary Bar Association Mathura, Raghavendra Singh said.

Raghavendra Singh added, "Since she is not minor, the court ordered her to go and live any place of her choice.
