The court directed the defence counsel to start cross examination of senior scientist B P Mahaptra of Central Forensic Science laboratory from August 21.
The defence counsel Manoj Shishodia said that they prayed that the cross examination of Mahapatra be deferred till the examination and cross-examination of 13 other crucial witnessed mentioned in Supreme Cour's order August 13 is concluded and that the CBI be directed to produce the 13 witnesses.
The defence counsel stated that none of them is acquainted with forensic science and have expressed their inability to cross examine the forensic expert effectively.
He said that forensic science expert deposed in respect of 152 exhibits so the cross-examination of the forensic experts will take time and need a science expert.
