Court remands 4 to JC for planting pipe bomb under Min's car

A local court today remanded to 15 days judicial custody four persons accused of planting a pipe bomb beneath the car of the Union Minister V Narayanasamy at his residence here on January 29.

Principal District and Sessions Judge CS Murugan remanded R Kalai Lingam, R Thiruselvan, M Tamilarasan and Kaviarasu when they were presented before the court by a team of the National Investigation Agency.

The accused, who were arrested last month, hail from Sivaganga district in Tamil Nadu.

The NIA, which launched a probe into the case, formally arrested the four activists and brought them to Puducherry for detailed interrogations.
 

The bomb was recovered from under the car and defused by a Bomb Disposal Squad from Tamil Nadu.
