A magistrate's court in Bhoiwada in central Mumbai today directed the Worli police to file a report on the probe into a complaint filed by a resident of the controversial Campa Cola buildings against the developer.

The Supreme Court on February 27 this year had ordered the Mumbai corporation to raze the buildings, where 140 families live, because of unauthorised floors.

Chandru Khemani had filed a complaint before the magistrate's court against the builder and developer and sought that a case of cheating and forgery be registered against them.

Khemani moved the court after the Worli police did not register a case upon his complaint.

The magistrate's court has now asked the Worli police to submit a report on the investigation carried out by them so far.

The buildings, which were meant to be five-storey structures, were constructed in the 1980s, however, the developer allegedly flouted FSI rules and added several more floors.
