A court here on Monday summoned the accused in a 17-year-old murder case after the High Court directed it to dispose the matter within two weeks.
"The dead body of Kunj Behari was found hanging from a ceiling of his house in Fenchari village under the Vrindavan Police Station on March 16, 2000," Prosecuting Officer S P Pandey said.
Villagers had then alleged the involvement of Behari's wife Rajvati and one Rajan, both residents Fenchari, in the murder, he said.

"The police had closed the case by submitting the final report then. However, the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court rejected the police's plea owing to misinterpretation of the postmortem report and non-appraisal of evidence," the officer said.
Rajan tried to get relief from the High Court through an appeal. But the court directed Mathura Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alpana Shukla, to settle the case within a fortnight, Pandey said.
He said taking cognisance of Behari's 11-year-old son, Kamal Singh's statement, the Magistrate has ordered Rajvati and Rajan to appear before the court on April 20.
Earlier notice was served to complainant Satya Veer Singh, Behari's nephew, but he did not appear, Pandey said.
After the appearance of the accused, the case would be committed to Mathura sessions court, the officer said.
