An Egyptian court suspended the conspiracy trial of the country's former president and some top Muslim Brotherhood leaders after defence lawyers demanded that a panel of judges overseeing the trial be changed.
Mohammed Morsi and 35 others are on trial on charges of conspiring with foreign groups, including the Palestinian militant organisation Hamas, to undermine Egypt's national security.
The Cairo Criminal Court today decided to suspend the trial as the defendants' lawyers demanded that the panel be changed.
No date was set for the trial to start.
Morsi was ousted by the military after just one year in power following protests by millions of Egyptians demanding that he resign. He faces a multitude of trials on a wide range of charges, some of which carry the death penalty.
