: The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee today said the July 25 High Court judgement on Munnar encroachements case gives 'a wrong message.'

He said KPCC fully supports government's decision to file an appeal challenging the Court order, declaring as 'illegal' the action taken by the previous LDF government to evict encroachers from public lands in Munnar in Idukki district

The court had in its July 25 judgement also directed the government to pay a provisional compensation of Rs 10 lakh to owner of 'Cloud Nine' resort, which had been demolished.

On party revamp, Sudheeran said the process would start with forming of party committees on booth level on August 10.

Plan was to complete the process by constituting District Congress Committees by August 31, he said.

Stating that office bearers would not be selected on the basis of 'group loyality', Sudheeran said 'merit and capacity to function' would be be the main criteria.
