Cow shelters will get grant for medicine production: Raj Min

The Rajasthan government will give grant to cow shelters for production of medicines, state Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Minister Prabhulal Saini said today.

The Minister said 'panchgavya aushadhi' is very helpful in treating several illnesses and so the government will be giving grant to cow shelters for its production.

Saini said for the development of cow shelters, a proposal will be sent to the Central government to link them with MNREGA scheme.

Speaking at a function here, the Minister said under the National Agriculture Development Programme, a proposal of Rs 26 crore has been prepared for the development of cow shelters in the state.
 

Saini said the government will strengthen the law to check cow slaughter and its smuggling.

He said there are 1,408 cow shelters in the state.
