CPI appeals to electors to vote for Left parties for a change

Claiming Left Front is the only "credible" and "consistent" force which can fight for interest of people of poll bound Bihar, CPI today appealed to electors of the state to vote for communist parties "for a change".

"Left will effectively project its polity and give a choice to people of Bihar. They need a change, an alternative.

"It is the only credible force which can really fight for interest of poor and toiling people and take the state forward. We will tell people to elect Left," CPI national secretary D Raja said on the sideline of the party's two-day national executive meeting, which began here today.
 

The CPI reiterated that Left forces have no plans to join hands with Samajwadi Party and NCP, which pulled out of JD (U)-RJD-Congress alliance reportedly after receiving raw deal in terms of seat-sharing.

The Rajya Sabha member said during the meeting, the party discussed its preparation for the election and decided to work out campaign plan in co-ordination with other communist outfits to see politics and programmes of Left Front is projected "effectively".

Six Left parties had yesterday announced seat-sharing among them for 221 out of 243 seats in the state which goes to polls from October 12 in a five phases.

According to the agreement reached amongst them, CPI will contest 91 seats, CPI-ML 78, CPI-M 38, SUCI 6, Forward Block 5 and RSP 3.

The executive meeting was attended by 27 of its members including CPI general secretary S Sudhakar Reddy and his predecessor AB Bardhan.
