CPI's Kerala secretary, Kanam Rajendran today demanded resignation of the UDF government in the wake of corruption charges levelled against some of its ministers.

Talking to reporters at the 'meet-the-press' programme at the press club here, he said allegations had been levelled against finance minister K M Mani and three other ministers in the bar bribery scam.

To press their demand, the LDF had already decided to jointly stage protests in front of district collectorates in the state from April 5 to 9, Rajendran said.

The just concluded national convention of left parties has decided on a joint action against the economic policies of the BJP-led NDA government at the centre, he said.

"The congress is also indirectly supporting the anti-people policies of the centre and so, it is right time for the left parties to organize a joint struggle nationwide against the central government," he said.
