CPI in Kerala today flayed RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat's call for review of reservation policy, saying it should be viewed as an attempt to sabotage the quota system existing in the country.
Bhagwat had made such a statement forgetting the realities in the country, where social backwardness was still a major cause of worry, a resolution passed by the party's executive here said.
Reservation was introduced in the country to uplift and bring into forefront those who had been suppressed for decades, and it should be retained as such as they were still "denied" rights for education or travel in many parts of the country, it said.
