The CPI(M) today lodged a complaint with the Election Commission that Trinamool Congress workers had stepped up attack on their workers after Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's campaign in the Howrah Lok Sabha seat yesterday.
"We have complained to the Chief Electoral Officer about attacks on our workers in the constituency where the June 2 by-election is gradually turning into a mockery, particularly after the chief minister's campaign at Bally yesterday," CPI(M) leader Robin Deb said.
He alleged that Trinamool Congress had "let loose a reign of terror" in the entire constituency.
TMC leader and state minister Arup Roy has described the allegation as 'bogus' and said the CPI(M) had been levelling "false charges" against his party.
