A CPI(M) candidate for the Hooghly district Zilla Parishad was arrested for allegedly liking an allegedly indecent Facebook post involving Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and State Election Commissioner A K Singh, police said today.

Prashanta Kundu, CPI(M)'s Hooghly district committee member, is contesting from Balagarh seat for the Zilla Parishad in the three-tier panchayat election.

Kundu was arrested last night after a worker of the ruling Trinamool Congress complained with the police that the marxist had liked an indecent Facebook post bearing the image of Banerjee, police said.
