Left parties made the demand after the January 8 decision by Arjun Munda-led cabinet to dissolve the House following JMM's withdrawal of support to the 28-month-old government.
"We request the governor to dissolve the House forthwith and give an opportunity for the people to cast their right to vote for a stable and strong government," CPI-M Jharkhand unit secretary Gopinath Bakshi said here in a statement.
"It is already three days since Arjun Munda has resigned from the chief minister's post. Any delay will only encourage horse-trading to form another instable and uncertain government seen during the previous occasions," he said.
Accusing both BJP and JMM of being responsible for the political uncertainty, he said, "Their's was an unprincipled alliance, and it is unfortunate for the people that all the eight governments since Jharkhand creation had been based on unethical and unprincipled alliance."
CPI's state unit General Secretary, Bhubaneswar Prasad Mehta has also advocated for fresh elections and appealed to the people to vote for "secular parties, which alone can give Jharkhand a stable and constructive government".
Bakshi said the left parties would meet tomorrow to discuss the prevailing "political uncertainty" in the state.
