CPI(M) Politburo member Brinda Karat today sought a statement from the Narendra Modi government on the recent speech of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
"Mohan Bhagwat has once again come out with the demand of a temple in Ayodhya, opening up the path of provocation again though the case is in the court," Karat told a press conference here.
"The Modi government is duty bound to come out with a statement on its stand on Mohan Bhagwat's demand," she added.
Bhagwat had on December 3 asked the society to prepare for building a grand Ram temple in Ayodhya.
