CPI(M) Politburo member Brinda Karat today said the 2016-17 Budget should have more allocations after one year of "crime" against people by cutting allocations for welfare schemes.
"I don't have expectations, but I certainly have demands because the way this (NDA) government is managing finances by trying to fulfil its deficit in the intervening period... Like cutting down allocations meant for the poor, like MGNREGA," Karat said here.
She demanded more allocations in education, health and other schemes, "which they had cut last time."
