CPI-M holds "public trial" of PM for demonetisation

CPI(M) in Kerala as part of its agitation against the demonetisation today held symbolic "public trial" of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at district headquarters in across the state.

Speaking at a meeting organised as part of stir here, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said cash cruch due to demonetisation has resulted in untold suffering to people.

He also highlighted the crisis faced by cooperative sector in the state following demonetisation of Rs 1000 and Rs 500 notes and not allowing the cooperative societies and district cooperative banks to exchange old notes.

CPI-M state leaders participated at the stir in various centres.
 

The party has also decided to conduct Peoples Convention in 2000 centres across the state before February 15. The campaign to save cooperatives, that has been crippled due to note ban, would be strengthened, the party had stated.
