This was decided at the CPI(M) state committee's two-day deliberations which ended on Wednesday, state party secretary Bijan Dhar said.

The party has decided to organise a series of public meetings by its affiliated Scheduled Caste co-ordination committee, youth wing, student outfit and women's body in the interest of the common people and against the policies of the UPA government, Dhar said.

He said earlier last month, Tripura Upajati Gana Mukti Parishad, the tribal wing of the party, had organised a public meeting here which witnessed a huge turnout, indicating that the opposition Congress would face a bleak prospect in the elections.

He alleged that the Congress and Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura had a nexus with the banned National Liberation Front of Tripura insurgents for creating trouble during elections in the state.

Dhar claimed that hundreds of Congress supporters and workers were joining the CPI(M) daily.
