CPI(M) MLA M Y Tarigami today expressed shock and grief over the killing of a youth by the security forces in Shopian district of south Kashmir, saying such incidents were bound to inflame the situation prevailing in the Valley.
"The law enforcing agencies are refusing to draw lessons from previous experiences. Unfortunately, no distinction is being made between civilians and militants," he said in a statement here.
Adil Farooq Magray, a student, was shot dead during a clash between the security forces and stone-pelting protesters last evening after the forceslaunched a cordon-and-search operation in a village following information that militants were hiding there.
