CPI(M) MLA M Y Tarigami today condemned the lynching of a police officer in Srinagar and said such incidents do not serve the interests of the people of Kashmir.
"It is a heinous crime and no words are enough to condemn it. It is very unfortunate," Tarigami told PTI here.
The legislator from south Kashmir's Kulgam appealed to the people to condemn such acts of barbarism. "We strongly believe that such incidents do not serve the interests of the people of the state."

Mohammad Ayub Pandith, a deputy superintendent of police, was stripped naked and stoned to death by an irate mob after he allegedly opened fire at a group of people, who caught him clicking pictures near a mosque in downtown area in the early hours today.
