CPI (M) Rajya Sabha member T K Rangarajan today accused the parties that had held reins of administration in the union territory of having neglected its development.

The parties which ruled Puducherry so far had not contributed to its development and agriculture bore the brunt of 'inefficient administration' by the governments including the current AINRC regime, he told reporters here.

Referring to the Uttarakhand issue, Rangarajan said the recent developments exposed the "anti-democratic style of functioning of BJP-led NDA."

He said the trial strength to prove a government's majority can be held on the floor of the Assembly and not outside of it and demanded the recall the Uttarakhand Governor K K Paul.

He welcomed the Supreme Court directive for revocation of President's rule in Uttarakhand which paved the way for Harish Rawat to return as Chief Minister.
