Four more cases had been registered against Thally constituency MLA Ramachandran, lodged in Salem prison since his recent arrest in connection with the murder of a Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam (PDK) functionary in the district last month.
Besides the MLA, cases were registered against his wife and brother also based on a complaint by Santhanapalli Village Administrative Officer (VAO) that they were involved in illegal quarrying of granite in Denkanikotta and surrounding areas, police said.
The MLA along with eight others is also facing a murder threat case based on a complaint by one Alam Basha of Bangalore.
