With an eye on the Assembly polls next year and the upcoming municipal polls in West Bengal, the CPI-M has stressed on inducting more youth and women in the party organisations.
The demand to infuse fresh blood into the party was raised during the ongoing 24th CPI-M state conference in the presence of party general secretary Parkash Karat.
"The members and delegates during the discussion in the party conference voiced the need to induct more youth and women in the party," CPI(M) central committee member Mohammed Salim said.

According to a CPI-M state functionary, several leaders during the ongoing conference raised the demand to replace the old and the inefficient members of the party with gen next leadership.
"There has been massive changes at the district level leadership. Several districts including Burdwan and West Midnapore now have new secretaries. So the chorus of bringing in more new leaders at the state level has gained momentum," the state functionary said.
