A state committee member of the ruling CPI-M Subal Rudra has been suspended from the party for one year over land grabbing charges, the party announced here today.
"Subal Rudra was suspended on June 20 for one year. He nurtured the interest of absentee landlords against the interests of poor people. An allegation of grabbing land against Rudra was found to be true in an internal inquiry of the party," Tripura CPI(M) state secretary Bijan Dhar said.
The 66-year-old Rudra admitted of receiving the suspension letter, but refused to comment further.
