After a two-day meeting of its Politburo, the party said it and other Left parties would undertake a nationwide mass campaign to collect five crore signatures on food security and for a universal PDS.
The party would organise rallies and marches (jathas) across the country to project the Left alternative on crucial issues like food, land, employment, education and health. These rallies would also be used to campaign on "exposing corruption" in high places.
The campaign, which would be led by CPI(M)'s national leaders, would culminate in a mass rally in Delhi in March next year, a statement said.
Details of these protests would be finalized at the Central Committee meeting to be held in Kolkata in January.
