CPI(M) today demanded from the Centre to conduct an in-custody interrogation of Trinamool Congress MP KD Singh in connection with alleged Ponzi schemes run by his companies.

As a part of the Left party's efforts to bring the case to a "logical conclusion", its MP Mohammed Salim also said to have urged Enforcement Directorate (ED), Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) and Department of Economic Affairs (DEA) to seek action against Singh here today.

"I met ED officials, chairman of CBDT and secretary of DEA over Singh's misdeeds and his company Alchemist's fraudulent means, collection of money in ponzi schemes and diverting the money and getting some involvement of black money in the political circuit," Salim told reporters here.

Salim, who earlier had written to Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in this connection in August, insisted the government to come forward and take action against Singh, given the a large number of people his company has "hoodwinked".

"He got the shelter from TMC and the TMC is trying to get shelter from BJP Government now. The action has to be taken. Or else two options are open (for the Left party) to knock door of judiciary and at the same time, go to people and mobilise them to force the government to enforce the law," he said.
