Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee today said the more the opposition would resorts to badmouthing her and her party, the easier it would be to score spectacular success in the ongoing West Bengal Assembly polls.
"The more they will resort to badmouthing and giving bad name to us, the more Trinamool Congress will flourish," Banerjee said at an election rally here in Howrah district.
Cautioning the opposition Left Front-Congress combine and the BJP, she said "these accusations will not help. After the elections, the CPI-M will be demolished, Congress will not be seen and BJP, which only creates religious divide, should not even look at Bengal".
"Who are they (BJP) to lecture us?" the West Bengal chief minister said, adding that they should do their work properly at the Centre.
"Bengal is number one in 100-days' work, Kanyasree scheme and many other projects," she said claiming that the TMC government in its five-year rule had led the state on the path of all-round development.
"CPI(M) had left the state's coffers empty and under a huge debt of Rs two lakh crore, we are doing our best to turn it around from the brink," she stated.
At an election rally in Kolkata on Sunday, Banerjee had said that she would have 'given a thought' before choosing her party candidates for the ongoing Assembly elections, if the sting operation tapes had been 'telecast earlier'.
In a sting operation by news portal Narada News, which it claimed had been done over two years from 2014, several Trinamool Congress MPs and bigwigs including state ministers were shown purportedly accepting bribes from a fictitious company.
Video footage of the sting operation, genuinity of which is yet to be verified by an independent agency, were released by Narada News a few days after Assembly elections in the state were announced.
Banerjee said there were relentless attempts to mislead
people of the state and some of the comments even surprised her.
She said the party has more responsibility with this victory.
"People could not vote in some areas as they were terrorised. There will be victors and losers in a democracy but it was taken to a historic low which is dangerous," she said.
The West Bengal Chief Minister also thanked the Election Commission for ensuring a free and fair polling.
She said Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Finance Minister Arun Jaitley congratulated her on TMC's victory.
"There has to be a Laxman Rekha in politics which has to be adhered to. People should learn from experience," she said.
Banerjee said the party will organise a host of cultural events till May 30 to celebrate the victory.
On her future roadmap for West Bengal, Banerjee said she will strictly follow the party manifesto as it is the guiding force.

Taking a swipe at the Left parties, after TMC's performance in the West Bengal Assembly polls, Rajya Sabha MP Derek O' Brien tweeted "So the Communists are reduced to Cuba, NKorea, parts of Kerala, Tripura and two and a half college campuses (sic)".
