Three wanted armed woman cadres of the CPI (Maoist) today surrendered before the police in Odisha's Koraput district.
The police said the surrendered Maoists have been identified as Sapai Muniaka alias Talsa Wateka alias Geeta and Lachmi Praska, all residents of Narayanpatna block in the district.
The trio had joined the Maoist organisation between 2008 and 2011 and were wanted by the police for their alleged involvement in several Maoist offensives in the district. They were in the armed squad of Koraput division of the Andhra-Odisha Border Special Zonal Committee (AOBSZC).

"Lachmi is suspected to have been involved in Nalco mines attack in 2009 and exchange of fire between Maoist and security personnel at Musalmunda and Samana forests in 2011 and 2010 respectively. Being inspired by Maoist leader Aruna, she had joined the Naxal movement in 2008," said IG (south-western range) Yeshwant Jethwa.
The surrendered rebels were carrying cash reward of Rs 1 lakh each.
