CPI slams Congress and BJP

CPI today slammed both Congress and BJP for allegedly pursuing anti-poor policies and appealed to the people to strengthen left parties to provide a credible alternative at the national level.

Both Congress and BJP are votaries of corporates and favoured framing of economic policies that further the interests of the industrials at the cost of the poor and downtrodden people, CPI National General Secretary S Sudharkar Reddy said at the 'Jan Aakrosh rally'.

Expressing concern at the rise of communal forces in the country, Reddy said that the saffron party-led alliance must be defeated at the polls to keep the divisive forces at bay.

Directing at the massive preparation being done for the BJP's 'Hunkar Rally' on the same venue two days later, party leader A B Bardhan said while his party espoused the cause of poor, the other party was brazenly using huge funds with an eye on power at Delhi.

Gurudas Dasgupta, Lok Sabha MP, alleged neither Prime Minister Manmohan Singh nor BJP's prime ministerial aspirant Narendra Modi cared for the plight of the poor.
