Joginder Dayal, member of party's central executive committee, also accused the government of "taking its hands off" state's medical education setup and leaving it on private players.

"Most of the private medical colleges are charging hefty amounts as under hand money for the admission in both under graduate and post graduate courses. It is making mockery of the medical education and health care," he said.

He demanded that the decision of the Punjab government be revoked and the earlier model, in which seats were filled through a common entrance test, be followed.
