Volunteers of Communist Party of India (CPI) today held demonstrations in front of the Head Post office and a few other centres in Puducherry and Karaikal regions to protest the lack of measures by both the Central and State governments to curb price rise.
Protesters raised slogans condemning the 'failure of the governments' to control price rise.
They also sought among other things uninterrupted supply of essential commodities to the family ration card holders through ration shops.
Puducherry CPI Secretary R Viswanathan and labour leader V S Abishegam were among those who participated in the demonstration.
