The CPI today welcomed External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj's visit to Pakistan terming it as a "positive" development and urged New Delhi and Islamabad to resolve issues between them "bilaterally".
"It is a positive development that the talks have resumed, followed by NSA-level talks between the two sides. There were ups and downs in the relationship between the two sides. Now Swaraj's visit will lead to a composite dialogue," CPI national secretary D Raja said.
Raja expected both sides to engage in a "meaningful" dialogue and to ensure they solve problems between them bilaterally.
