CPI volunteers held for 'ransacking' taluk office

Around 100 volunteers of the CPI were arrested here today for allegedly ransacking furniture at a taluk office near here during a protest over their pro-farmer charter of demands, police said.

The agitators after a demonstration seeking implementation of M S Swaminathan committee recommendations for development of agriculture and waiver of farm loans allegedly barged into the taluk office in Bahoor, they said.

They ransacked the furniture leading to their arrest, police said.
