CPIM seeks steps to check pulses prices

CPI-M Tamil Nadu unit Secretary G Ramakrishnan today said the Centre and the state governments should take action to bring down price of pulses which had zoomed beyond the reach of common man.

The main reason for hike in the price of pulses was online trading. The government should take steps to bring down the prices, he told reporters here.

Another reason for the steep hike was converting agricultural lands into real estate lands and industrial lands.

He said the four-party combine comprising CPI-M, CPI, MDMK and VCK would meet in Chennai On Oct 23 to decide about a Common Minimum Programme.
