The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has requested the Indian Government to investigate the killing of a reporter in Jharkhand, for which the People's Liberation Front of India has claimed responsibility.

"The Indian government should fully investigate this murder to determine the motive and bring the killers to justice," Bob Dietz, Asia programme coordinator for CPJ said in a statement.

Jitendra Singh, who was working as a journalist with a Hindi newspaper in Murhu, was gunned down by PLFI activists on April 27 in Khunti district.
