Acting on the directions of AICC to Pradesh Congress Committees to stick to the principle of "one man, one post", Himachal Pradesh Chief Parliamentary Secretary Inder Dutt Lakhanpal today resigned from the post of State Sewa Dal chief.

A first time MLA from Barsar, Lakhanpal was inducted as CPS as he was the only Congress MLA from Hamirpur, the home district of former chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal.

The resignation of about half a dozen other Congress leaders including three general secretaries and two vice-presidents, who were holding two posts, are awaited.

Party sources said the decision about their resignation from the party post or from posts in the government would be conveyed to leaders concerned.

Some AICC office bearers were appointed chairman/ vice-chairman of Boards and Corporations and after the fresh directions from the AICC, these leaders are in quandary.

HPCC president Sukhwinder Sukhu, who was in New Delhi, said the AICC decision will be implemented in letter and spirit and hopefully some other leaders would follow suit.

Most of the persons, who will be made to shed one of their positions are loyalists of Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh except Harbhajan Singh Bhajji, a former Shimla MLA and now vice-chairman of state water board.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Kumar, a sitting MLA from Chintpurni, took charge as Chairman of the State Finance Commission today. He also heads the Congress's Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes Cell.
