Say it with flowers.

This seemed to be the message of the Central Public Works Department (CPWD) which showcased the holy river Ganga with tons of flowers of different varieties and shades during the main Republic Day parade here.

The CPWD tableau, carrying the "Ganga jal kalash" made of flowers, was decked up with about 25 quintals of flowers depicting the "Maa Ganga" (Mother Ganga) as it rolled down the historic Rajpath here.

Flowers such as aster, marigold, roses, zaafry, tulips, orchids and chrysanthemum were used to depict Gaumukh, a beautiful lanscape of North India. Gaumukh is a place in the Himalayas from where the river Ganga originates.

The tableau also showed the lovely glaciers of the Gaumukh, of the Gangotri temple, Ganga river and Ganga aarti.

The government has made Ganga cleaning its priority and massive efforts are underway in this regard.
