The urban body's move comes in compliance with the direction of the Urban Development Minister Venkaiah Naidu, who in a review meeting last month, had expressed concern over delays in the execution of various projects and directed the construction major to open itself to public scrutiny and monitoring to ensure transparency.

Currently, CPWD is executing 2,583 works at a total cost of Rs 24,969 crore. Out of these, 630 are more than Rs 5 crore each costing a total of Rs 22,174 crore. Of these 630 projects, 112 are progressing as per schedule while 194 are delayed by more than two years, 122 by one to two years, 84 are delayed by 6-12 months while another 118 are running behind the schedule by up to six months.
