This was stated in Lok Sabha by Minister of state for Urban Development Deepa Dasmunshi in response to a member's question.

"The proposals submitted by CPWD for re-development of colonies such as Kidwai Nagar (East), Srinivaspuri, Mohammad Pur and R K Puram which included building of high rise structures, were not found acceptable by DUAC on grounds of not conformity with overall urban character and importance of location, repeated use of typical blocks with no variation in heights, large scale cutting down of trees, high floor area ratio and designing buildings without conducting proper traffic and environmental studies," she said.

Dasmunshi said the proposed redevelopment plan of Delhi High Court submitted by CPWD had also not been accepted as it was not found to be complimenting the architectural grading of the building.

She said approval of Archaeological Survey of India would also be required for re-development of the Delhi High Court as the building is in close vicinity of some historical buildings.
