CPWD to participate in construction of Andhra capital

The Central Public Works Department would like to participate in the construction of Andhra Pradesh's capital, if the AP government offers the job to it, CPWD Southern Region Additional Director General P P Srinivasan said today.

Srinivasan told reporters here that the CPWD has 161 years of experience in undertaking prestigious construction projects for the Government of India.

He said the CPWD has a reputation for quality, adding that everything constructed by it would be assessed by a third party.

Srinivasan also said that his department has submitted proposals to take up construction works of the Indian Institute of Information Technology, the Indian Institute of Technology, the Indian Institute of Management and Central University in Andhra Pradesh.
 

Presently, construction works valued worth Rs 400 crore are in progress in Andhra Pradesh, he said.
