Prince Harry's girlfriend Cressida Bonas has told her friends she is not yet ready to marry and settle down.

Speculation that the two were about to announce their engagement had reached fever pitch after Bonas was pictured with Harry at Wembley Arena on Friday and was seen looking lovingly at her man during England's Six Nations win over Wales at Twickenham last weekend.

But Cressida, 25, is said to have confided in friends that she is "wrestling" with a future choice between her boyfriend and a possible stage career, the Daily Mirror reported.

The Prince, 29, has reportedly said he will wait until she is ready to get engaged.

"The bookies have been offering odds of 8/13 on an engagement this year but based on what she has told everyone, I would say it's less than evens that anything will happen this year," a friend was quoted by the daily as saying.

"People talk to her all the time about Harry and she gets quite cross and says 'I don't want to get married yet'. She has not been invited to meet the Queen yet, so she's not at the stage of an engagement being imminent," the friend said.

Bonas, who works in marketing, was said to have turned down lucrative modelling jobs because she believes she is wanted only for her royal connections.

"Her life and her career are on hold because of the relationship with Harry. She wants to be a dancer, she loves the stage, absolutely loves it, it's like a virus that has really got into her system and she is wrestling with the problem of how to square that circle," the friend said.

The Prince turns 30 in September, an age when members of the Royal family typically marry.

"If it was up to Harry he would get married straight away but he is very sensitive about her on this particular issue. Harry has told her he will wait," a source was quoted as saying.
