The Crime Branch of Jammu and Kashmir police today advised general public not share confidential information relating to ATM cards, credit cards, bank accounts and insurance policies after a number of complaints received about people being duped after sharing these data over phone or through e-mail and sms.

"We have advised the general public not reply to any calls, SMS, e-mails to share confidential information relating to ATM cards, credit cards, bank accounts and insurance policies," an advisory of State Crime Branch said.

It was issued keeping in view the complaints received wherein public has been duped after sharing personal information on the pretext of winning lotteries or installation of mobile towers etc.

These are all hoax calls and may lead to cheating, it said.
