Crime rate in Rajasthan drops by 5.8 pc: Min

Rajasthan government today said there has been a decline of crime rate by 5.8 per cent in the last year in the state.

Home minister Gulab Chand Kataria also informed that crime against women in the last year had came down by 9.7 per cent while those against SC by 12 per cent and ST by 16 per cent.

After chairing a monthly meeting of police officers, the Minister said taking action against hardened criminals was the top priorities of the state police department this year.

He said he had given necessary directions to the officials and directed them to control cyber crime and strengthen Special Operations group.
 

Kataria also discussed with the senior police officials about the demands and problems of the policemen and assured that the government would made efforts to construct 5,000 quarters to solve the problem of residence of the policemen.

DGP Manoj Bhatt and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
