A 23-year-old alleged criminal wanted in several cases and who wanted to be "Dawood" of West Delhi, was arrested from Dwarka.
The accused, identified as Vicky alias Takkar alias Dawood was arrested yesterday by the staff of southwest district. He was wanted in a case of murder that took place in Ranhola, West District. He was also involved in several cases including attempt to murder and preparation of dacoity in West Delhi.
"A tip off was received that Vicky would come to Sector-16 metro station, Dwarka, New Delhi. Our team swung into action and laid a trap near Metro Line, Sector-16, Dwarka and he was apprehended," said DCP (southwest) R A Sanjeev.

On March 6, Vicky along with his associates Pawan and Rakesh Bijliwala attacked one Rahul Ranga and his friends as he had refused to pay any protection money to them. In the incident Rahul Ranga and his friend Mohit sustained grievous injuries. Later Mohit succumbed to the injuries on his way to the hospital.
"On his arrest, Vicky revealed that he was looking for an opportunity to eliminate the prime witness Rahul Ranga of this case but could not succeed," he added.
According to police, Vicky is a school dropout and entered into the world of crime. He along with his associates used to collect the protection money from operators of Gramin Sewa, and shopkeepers of the area and his terror was such that nobody lodged complaint against him.
"Earlier he was having reward of Rs. 25,000 on his head in a murder case of Dabri area and he was arrested in the year 2014. After getting bail in November 2014, he did not mend his ways and continued collecting protection money. He was dreaming of becoming Dawood one day, hence he also declared himself to be the Dawood of West Delhi," said Sanjeev.
Further investigation is in progress and efforts are being made to affect more recovery and to ascertain his involvements in other cases, police said.
