A man wanted in a number of cases of murder and loot was today arrested after a shootout in Azamgarh, police said.
The gunfight occurred when the police cornered two people, including the arrested Ramji, in Ramganj Bazar area.
In the exchange of fire, Ramji was injured while his accomplice managed to escape, they said.
A country-made pistol and cartridges were seized from the arrested man who was carrying a cash reward of Rs 12,000, police said.
