The criminal, Jalaluddin, who was wanted for involvement in various crimes, was shot dead by a gang of 12 unknown miscreants in the early hours at Sashinagar in Bajorichara police station, Superintendent of Police Pradip Pujary said.
Jalaluddin was absconding for long and the police was in look out for him.
Pujary said the incident could be an act of revenge.
