Criminal tendencies among Pb youth a serious matter: ADGP

Describing criminal tendencies among the youth in Punjab as a serious matter, ADGP (law and order) Rohit Choudhary today said efforts were being made to curb it.

He claimed that crime rate in the state has come down in the last few months and the police were working overtime to curb criminal activities and nab gangsters.

"Criminal tendencies among the youth is a serious matter and police will maintain liaison with youth clubs to check such tendencies," the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) told reporters here.

Choudhary said the Police were helping youths to take up sports and cultural activities and also providing tactical support to youth clubs.
 

A skill development center was being opened in Nurpur Bedi area for the youths, he said.

The ADGP said at present, 23 gangsters were active and their photographs have been sent to all police stations and support of social media was being taken to nab them.
