Criminal wanted in 16 cases in Delhi among two held in UP

Two criminals, who were allegedly planning to kill an undertrial in a court, were today arrested after a brief encounter with the Uttar Pradesh police in Bulandshahr court compound.

Abid alias Mota and Ravi had come to kill one Arif who was to be produced in the court during a hearing, police said.

Mota has 16 cases against him in different police stations of Delhi, they said, adding that two pistols and cartridges were seized from their possession.

Along with Arif, another undertrial, Kamaluddin, lodged in Tihar jail under MCOCA, was to be produced today.

The duo, during interrogation said that they had been given the pistol by a Delhi-based person to kill Arif.
