In her complaint, 32-year-old Swar Thounaojam, who has made the city her home, said the problem started when she got down from her car and sought compensation after a two-wheeler rammed into her vehicle on the busy DVG Road at around 8 PM on Wednesday.
As both entered into a heated argument, traffic piled up and commuters apparently grew restless, traffic and police sources said. She sought the help of a traffic constable nearby to resolve the issue and he asked her to move her car first to clear the traffic snarl.
But sources said she took some time to do that as she did not understand the local Kannada language. By then, a section of the crowd gathered around her and allegedly heckled and abused Swar, whose move to take pictures on the scene appeared to make matters worse.
Police are investigating the case.
