Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General Prakash Mishra said here today that the force has become more aggressive in taking on Maoists.

"Earlier, Maoists used to carry out attacks in Chhattisgarh, but now it is the CRPF which attacks Maoists. It has become more aggressive and this has borne fruits," he told reporters.

Sounding optimistic, he said that in two years, things will be different in Chhattisgarh.

He admitted that CRPF is losing men due to diseases, adding that the issue has been taken seriously and efforts are on to de-stress CRPF personnel.

Mishra said that the CRPF's raising day on July 27 will be celebrated here, where the first battalion of this force was raised.

Union Minister for Home Affairs Rajnath Singh will grace the CRPF Raising Day function, he said.

Mishra was here to take stock of preparations underway to celebrate the CRPF's Raising Day.
